Originally Published by Nova
Games n 1983 (and later by Chessex, Greysea, and currently Flying Buffalo), Lost
Worlds Combat Books are a DICELESS fantasy combat system. Each player has
a book, and you play by giving your book to your opponent, who
reciprocates. You each take turns picking a maneuver from your list of
options, and telling the other player a page number. If your attack is
faster/better than your opponent's you score a hit! Continue this process
until one of you is defeated. Originally released in the early 80's, there
have been a number of other book series utilizing a similar system over
the years: Battletech is based on six original FASA mechs, Star Wars pits
Luke Skywalker & Darth Vader in a lightsaber duel, and Battlebooks is
based on 18 Marvel and Indy heroes.
