Blood
Bowl Teams | I
currently have 13 Blood Bowl teams, of which only 6 are fully painted. I
have arranged the pictures into 9 categories: Team Logo, Coaching
Staff (Coach & Assistants), Support Staff (Apothecary &
Wizard), Cheerleaders (and Fans), First String (a full
compliment of 16 basic players), Second String (additional
players/reserves), Special Teams (Star Players & Secret
Weapons), Markers, and In-Action.
Atleria
Falcons | Amazons
- I have 16 players ready to convert and paint for this team.
Unfortunately for me, they look more like a Norse team rather than an
Amazon team. I really want to have an Amazon team, so I am going to
attempt a major conversion. The figures are from The Valkyries
range at Phigs Miniatures.
These are some really excellent sculpts, and I look forward to painting
this team.
Bright
Axes | Mixed
- This team was initially created for Dungeon Bowl games, and built
around one of the iconic teams in the fluff material (I really was just
looking for an excuse to use up some of those plastics laying around). I
have no idea why I ever had the inspiration to complete the painting on
this team before some of my other teams. The team barely makes the
requirements for the experimental Old World team for LRB2 roster. The
coach is and old Imperial Guard grunt, the apothecary is a generic cleric
figure, the wizard is a Basic Heroquest plastic mage, and all of
the players are 2nd edition Blood Bowl & Dungeon Bowl
plastic figs.
Champions
of Death | Undead
- This team is in shambles. It was originally made up of spare WHFB
figures, and the 2nd edition Blood Bowl Star Players available to
undead. Over the years I have completely looted the team down to just the
Star Players. When 3rd edition came out I picked up a Champions
of Death boxed
set, but as yet have done nothing with it.
Chaos
All-Stars | Mixed
-I originally put a Chaos All-Stars
team together when we first started playing Blood Bowl back in 2nd
edition. I didn't convert any figures, and used RPG figures for the Big
Guys. When we revived the game around 3rd edition, I scrounged up proper Blood
Bowl Big Guys, followed an unofficial Allies list, and repainted the
team. This has left me with many illegal figures on the team, unless I
follow the current Chaos Pact list. The coach is and old chaos marauder
grunt, the wizard is a basic Heroquest plastic chaos mage, and the
players are 2nd and 3rd edition Blood Bowl figs (there are a few converted
WHFB chaos warriors and beastmen thrown in). I am currently in the
process of adding enough players to allow either a standard Chaos team, or
a 2nd edition style Chaos All-Stars team, by adding 2 each of norse, orc,
and gobbo players, a troll, a Star Player troll, 4 of the chaos Star
Player figs, 3 beastmen, 3 beastmen with mutation, and 3 Chaos Warrior
with mutations. I really should break this into two teams, as when I'm
done, I will have over 40 figures on this team!!!
Darkside
Cowboys | Dark
Elf -This team is
exclusively coached by one of my friends. He bought most of the player
figures for me to paint, and keep back in 2 edition days. The coach and
staff are from a WHFB dark elf command blister. I added the Witch
Elves and Horkon, and repainted the entire team when the Gold Edition
edition came out. I moved 2 Kicker and 2 Catcher figures to the Lineman
position at about the same time. I just recently added the high elf
cheerleaders to bolster the cheer squad.
Dwarf
Warhammers | Dwarf
-This team is also
exclusively coached by one of my friends (Dwarves fit his personality). I
initially put the team together sometime between 2nd and 3rd editions. The
2 Blitzers are made from original WHFB dwarf regiments plastics. The 2
Runners are 2nd edition kickers, and the Longbeards are Dungeon Bowl
plastics or 2nd edition metals. I added the Troll Slayers and Grim, when
3rd edition came out. There was originally an ogre on this team, by the
coaches request, but I never thought it fit the team. When Gold Edition
came out, I painted up "Tin Man" to replace the ogre (I felt it
was more in character with the team).
Greenfield
Packers | Halfling
- I initially painted
this team when 3rd edition first came out. I recently removed 2 Treemen
from the roster and added 2 Halflings, brining the team up to date with
LRB2 rules. I am using a non-GW fig to represent Deeproot, as it fit the
style of the 2nd edition rookie Treemen better than other GW Treemen. I
also re-based the cheerleaders (known as "The Flying Pigs"),
which were originally on 4 separate bases.
New
Orcland Saints | Snotling
-I put this tem
together sometime around the gold edition era. I just recently painted up
the assistant coaches and cheerleaders. The Snotlings are mostly 2nd
edition BB figures, with a few from WHFB to round out the ranks.
The rookie Trolls are non-GW figs I had in my RPG figure assortment.
Orcland
Raiders | Orc
-Orcs are by far my
favorite non-star player laden team. Strangely enough, even though I have
played them quite a bit, I never seem to get around to finish painting
them. Everything is ready to go: I have all of the staff converted, 4
cheerleaders, 16 regular, and 4 special team players. Hopefully I will
finish this team before I play them again.
Reikland
Reavers | Human
-This team is my
absolute favorite team. However, I only play them if I can field Griff,
Zugg, and Ziggi. The team has been fully painted twice, but when 3rd
edition hit our gaming group, I felt my painting skills had improved
dramatically over the last covering, and primed the entire team and staff
white. This is how the team still remains today.
T'ngroth
Titans | Ogre
-This is the only team
listed here that I actually can not field a starting roster and staff with
at least primed figures. I do intend to complete the team eventually, but
so far I only have 3x 2nd edition ogres and a 3rd edition Morg.
Warpstone
Warriors | Skaven
-This team was
originally half of the Underworld Creepers. I had accumulated enough spare
figs, that I could assemble a non-mixed race team. Since the trend of BB
was to move away from allies, I decided to disband the Creepers.
Whaz'n
Tuu'n Greenskins | Goblins
-This team came from
the other half of the Underworld Creepers. I had many goblins that could
be easily converted to cheerleaders and assistant coaches, so I intend to
flood this team with staff . I also have 6 secret weapon gobbos and two
trolls to complete the squad.
